It\u2019s been our privilege working closely with The MedTech Conference team in lead-up to next week and I know this year\u2019s conference is going to be the biggest and best one yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Facts About Canadian Medtech<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A significant impetus for bringing the conference to Canada is the country\u2019s strong medical technology innovation environment (Canada is the 8th largest medtech market in the world) and Toronto (along with the greater Toronto area) is one of the world\u2019s leading metro areas for tech companies. With a highly educated and diverse population, along with leading medtech incubators, healthcare systems and governments at all levels that are willing to partner with industry \u2014we\u2019re excited to showcase what Canada has to offer next week. Here\u2019s a few facts relating to the medtech industry in Canada:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The size of the Canadian medical technology market is valued at approximately $7.8 billion, making it the 8th largest worldwide.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>More than 1,500 medtech companies operate in Canada.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong talent, well-educated pool \u2013 over 35,000 Canadians employed in the medtech sector and Canada ranks 5th in world for education.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Canada\u2019s medtech industry is built on a strong tradition of research, development and commercialization of innovative technologies\u2014in Toronto alone there are 9 research hospitals and 37 research institutes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Canadian Pavilion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re thrilled about the commitment shown by the Canadian medtech sector to be a part of this conference. In fact, the conference\u2019s Medtech Campus will feature a Canadian Pavilion\u2014which had to be expanded due to overwhelming interest. I\u2019d encourage you to visit the Canadian Pavilion, say hello to the Medtech Canada team and explore the Pavilion\u2019s more than 40 exhibitors which include economic development and medtech support agencies, as well as many innovative established and start-up medtech companies.\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/themedtechconference.com\/medtech-campus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Preview\u00a0the Medtech Campus floor plan<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Don&#8217;t Miss Thursday Toronto Off-Site Tours<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the Canadian Pavilion, there are also off-site tours being planned to showcase innovation adoption, collaboration, and R&amp;D opportunities. On October 17 and 18, the Government of Ontario will host two separate Innovation Road Trips to highlight the province\u2019s medical technology hotspots.
