The industry is working closely with key U.S. government agencies to expand manufacturing of and access to the medical technologies we all need to prevent, detect, diagnose and treat the coronavirus. The MedTech Conference 2020
AdvaMed is closely monitoring the developments and impact of the COVID-19 epidemic. In the face of so much uncertainty, we are continuing to plan this year’s conference and are encouraged that we will be able to hold our meeting in person. Since the onset of the coronavirus outbreak, dozens of medtech companies have donated medical products worth approximately $26.8 million and made cash donations of $4.1 million to the China Red Cross Foundation and other medical institutions, like hospitals and clinics in Hubei Province. The donations will continue to grow: The U.S. government is estimating it will need 500 million safety masks over the next 12-18 months, and medtech is already ramping up production and distribution.
