ICPD’s Scientist Mentoring & Diversity Program

The Scientist Mentoring & Diversity Program for Medical Technology (SMDP MedTech) is a year-long mentoring program benefiting baccalaureate and graduate students from racial and ethnic groups underrepresented in the MedTech industry, including Hispanic Americans, Pacific Islanders, African Americans and Native Americans. Attending students are interested in careers in the medical technology industry. Scholars are paired with industry mentors who are executives at medical device, medical technology and consumer health care companies. Scholars learn about career opportunities in industry and receive career development coaching and also attend The MedTech Conference. MedTech Color

MedTech Color (MTC) is envisioned to be the destination for leaders of color in the life-saving medical device industry. We have three objectives: (1) Build and support a community of decision makers (2) Increase the number of people of color who enter and stay in MedTech as founders of companies and practitioners within the industry (3) Add value to the MedTech industry through thought leadership. Our Inclusion & Diversity breakfast, held in conjunction with The MedTech Conference, targets top leaders from within the medtech industry including investors, company executives, and major law firm partners. Participants will learn more about MTC and how to execute strategies in meaningful ways to advance the representation of people of color in medtech.


MedTech Innovator

MedTech Innovator is the industry’s nonprofit global competition and accelerator for medical device, digital health and diagnostic companies. The organization’s mission is to improve the lives of patients by accelerating the growth of companies that are transforming the health care system. AdvaMed is proud to partner with MedTech Innovator once again in 2023.


MedTechVets

MedTechVets (formerly MVPvets) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization connecting medtech and life science companies with talented veterans ready to serve a purpose, with a broad bandwidth of skills, and an extraordinary focus on achieving goals. Transforming Equity and Access in Medtech (TEAMFund) is an organization that combines a non-profit side with an impact fund limited partnership, with a shared aim to expand access to affordable, appropriate and sustainable medical technologies that address unmet health needs in the world’s most resource-constrained populations. TEAMFund is co-founded and co-chaired by Timothy Ring, former CEO of Bard, and Kathryn Gleason, former senior partner at Morgan Lewis, and counts among their members the leading medtech companies worldwide.
