ICPD’s Scientist Mentoring & Diversity Program

In conjunction with The MedTech Conference 2020, AdvaMed member companies will sponsor a training session for the Scientist Mentoring & Diversity Program for Medical Technology (SMDP MedTech). The year-long mentoring program benefits baccalaureate and graduate students from racial and ethnic groups underrepresented in the MedTech industry, including Hispanic Americans, Pacific Islanders, African Americans and Native Americans. Attending students are interested in careers in the medical technology industry. Scholars are paired with industry mentors who are executives at medical device, medical technology and consumer healthcare companies. Scholars learn about career opportunities in industry and receive career development coaching and also attend The MedTech Conference. For more information about SMDP MedTech please contact Scott May at smay@icpdprograms.org or visit icpdprograms.org.

MedTech Color

MedTech Color (MTC) is envisioned to be the destination for leaders of color in the life-saving medical device industry. We have three objectives: (1) Build and support a community of decision makers (2) Increase the number of people of color who enter and stay in MedTech as founders of companies and practitioners within the industry (3) Add value to the MedTech industry through thought leadership. Our invitation-only breakfast, held in conjunction with the world’s largest medical device conference, targets top leaders from within the MedTech industry including investors, company executives, and major law firm partners. Participants will learn more about MTC and how to execute strategies in meaningful ways to advance the representation of people of color in MedTech.
