When Cohesys applied for the Pitch & Pour: Start-Up Pitch Competition at The MedTech Conference, we knew it was an opportunity to get in front of the right medtech audience. What we did not fully anticipate was how much momentum the experience would create after the event.
As an early-stage company developing BoneTape, a new approach to fracture fixation, our team is focused on solving a longstanding challenge in surgical repair: how to move beyond traditional, invasive plates and screws toward a solution designed to simplify procedures and support better outcomes for patients.
Pitch & Pour gave us a focused platform to share that work with investors, strategics, military health leaders, and medtech decision-makers.
More Than a Pitch
Winning the competition was an exciting milestone, but the value extended beyond the stage.
The pitch format pushed us to sharpen our message, clearly communicate the unmet need, and explain why our technology matters. Just as importantly, it opened the door to meaningful conversations throughout The MedTech Conference.
Onsite, we connected with investors, experienced operators who were generous in opening their own networks, and clinicians who were excited about our solution and the problem we are solving.
For a start-up, those moments matter. The right conversation can validate a direction, challenge an assumption, or create a relationship that continues long after the conference ends.
Building Momentum After the Win
Winning Pitch & Pour gave Cohesys real momentum at a key moment for the company. It opened up genuine investor interest and put our story in front of people who could help carry it forward, which is always valuable for a start-up.
Why Start-Ups Should Apply
For early-stage companies, every pitch opportunity has to be worth the time. For Cohesys, Pitch & Pour was.
The MedTech Conference brought together the audiences we needed to reach — all in one place — and gave us a way to be part of a larger medtech conversation. The experience helped us strengthen our story, expand our network, and create momentum for the next stage of our growth.
Our biggest takeaway was that getting your story to the right people, in the right room, is one of the highest-leverage things a start-up can do, and Pitch & Pour was a great opportunity to do that.
If you are an early-stage company working in military health, medtech, diagnostics, digital health, or imaging, we encourage you to apply. Pitch & Pour offers a focused stage, a relevant audience, and access to the broader medtech ecosystem.
You do not need to have everything figured out to benefit from the experience. Part of the value is the feedback, questions, and perspective you gain along the way.
If your company is building something with the potential to improve care, support military health, or change how medtech solutions reach patients, Pitch & Pour is a room worth being in.
Applications for the 2026 Pitch & Pour: Start-Up Pitch Competition are now open. Learn more and apply to pitch at The MedTech Conference in Boston.
