Just Announced: The 2026 Pitch & Pour Competitors

Meet the start-ups taking the stage at Pitch & Pour: Start-Up Pitch Competition! On Sunday, October 18 from 3:00-5:30 PM, 12 early-stage companies will pitch their innovations in military health to a room of investors, strategics and industry decision-makers during this high-energy happy hour competition at The MedTech Conference. 

Each start-up will have just 8 minutes to make their case, with a 5-minute pitch followed by 3 minutes of Q&A. Get to know this year’s competitors below, then join us in Boston October 18-21 to see who takes home the win.

ARMR Systems, Inc.  
 ARMR is redefining hemorrhage control by bringing advanced, wearable trauma care to patients when medical support may not be immediately available. Its JT5 is a lightweight, tourniquet-style direct pressure device designed to rapidly compress damaged arteries in critical torso-junctional areas that traditional tourniquets cannot reach. By making advanced hemorrhage control more accessible and less dependent on immediate medic intervention, ARMR aims to improve survivability when every second counts.

BLASTID is transforming bloodstream infection diagnosis by delivering actionable pathogen identification and antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) directly from whole blood within hours instead of days. Its SPLENDID™ platform is designed to bypass the culture-dependent bottleneck by isolating viable pathogens directly from a single blood draw and enabling rapid identification and phenotypic AST. By helping clinicians move from empirical treatment to targeted therapy sooner, BLASTID aims to improve patient outcomes, reduce unnecessary antibiotic use, and combat antimicrobial resistance.

CranioSense
CranioSense is developing the first non-invasive medical device designed to rapidly and accurately diagnose intracranial hypertension. Today, measuring intracranial pressure typically requires an invasive procedure, creating challenges in diagnosing this life-threatening condition and its risk of secondary brain injury across conditions including traumatic brain injury, hydrocephalus, and idiopathic intracranial hypertension. CranioSense aims to give clinicians a faster, safer way to identify intracranial hypertension and improve diagnosis in the emergency department.

GenAssist is developing biomaterials designed to regenerate and restore skeletal muscle after severe trauma. Today, up to 50% of patients with severe muscle injuries experience permanent disability because existing treatments cannot replace lost muscle tissue or restore function. GenAssist’s MyoSponge® is designed to restore contractile muscle tissue within the defect, offering surgeons a new approach to reducing the lasting physical, financial, and psychological burden of severe muscle trauma.

MedCu is bringing the biological power of copper to point-of-injury wound care, with technology designed to improve survival and recovery in military trauma. Its FDA- and CE-cleared family of copper wound dressings combines broad-spectrum antimicrobial and anti-biofilm protection with support for wound healing, addressing limitations of conventional field dressings that primarily stop bleeding or cover the wound. Already moving into military use, MedCu is developing next-generation copper dressings designed to combine hemorrhage control, infection prevention, and active healing for combat casualty care and prolonged-field care.

RBT Resources, Inc. 
RBT Resources is developing next-generation blood transfusion technology designed to deliver life-saving whole blood faster when every second matters. Its Combat Rapid Blood Transfusion (CRBT) device is designed to cut transfusion time to under 5 minutes, a 75% reduction, with a lightweight, field-ready pump supporting rapid blood delivery at the point of injury. Founded by former U.S. Special Operations operators and shaped through collaboration with military medical teams, RBT is developing compact, reusable systems for combat, austere, and mass-casualty environments.
