Tu es invité…You are invited!

I’m pleased to provide some Canadian Content (or “CanCon”, as we call it north of the 49th parallel).  As a Medtech community we are extremely proud to have been selected as the first site for the MedTech Conference outside of the United States.  But we know the choice was no accident!

As one of the world’s most multicultural cities, Toronto will wow you with a truly authentic global culinary scene, theatre landscape, cultural events and a tapestry of diverse communities keen to show you their unique gems across the city.  And don’t forget to bring your walking shoes.  Known as a “City within a park” you can duck out of the bustle of North America’s 4th largest city and find tranquility in one of our hundreds of interconnected parks and ravines.

We’re also host to a thriving Medtech industry, with Canada boasting the 8th largest medtech market in the world.  In the Greater Toronto Area alone, start-up incubators, Superclusters in AI, Digital Technology and Advanced Manufacturing, leading universities in biomedical engineering and artificial intelligence, 9 research hospitals and 37 research institutes and the broader industry all work cohesively to advance our vibrant sector.  Complement these attributes with provincial and federal governments that are all developing robust Life Sciences strategies in which medtech plays a prominent role and you’ve got an environment primed to welcome you in October.

This year’s conference promises to be among the best yet…be sure to visit us at the record-sized Canadian Pavilion where government, industry, academia and funding partners will be keen to see what role we can play in advancing the sector in Canada and beyond.  And here’s a final pro tip – when you find the need to refuel, step out of the Conference Centre and find one of our innumerable takeaway storefronts.  The curries, shawarmas, sushi and other flavours won’t disappoint!

Thank you for registering – I’ll look forward to saying a warm “bienvenue” when you arrive in October.
